A 12-minute guided breathwork meditation to experience euphoria
What Is DMT Breath?

Dmt Breath refers to a style of deep, rhythmic breathing that mimics the altered states triggered by substances like N,N-DMT or 5-MeO-DMT. It’s based on holotropic breathwork, a technique developed in the 1970s by psychiatrist Stanislav Grof.
This practice involves:
- Fast, deep breathing for 15–60 minutes
- Conscious control without breaks
- Often paired with music and eye shades
The goal? Induce non-ordinary states of consciousness, emotional release, and even mystical experiences — all naturally.
Can You Really “Release” DMT With Breathwork?
Some believe intense breathwork may stimulate the pineal gland (often linked to DMT production), though this isn’t scientifically proven. What is known is that breathwork can:
- Alter oxygen and CO₂ levels
- Change brainwave activity
- Trigger deep emotional and sensory experiences
Many practitioners say the feeling is similar to a mild DMT trip — especially when done in a group or retreat setting.

Dmt Breath
This 12-minute guided meditation practice focuses on helping you achieve a state of euphoria through controlled breathing techniques. By following the guided instructions, you can stimulate the release of DMT (dimethyltryptamine) within your body, which is believed to play a role in spiritual experiences and deep meditative states.
Euphoric breathwork guided meditation script
Step 1: Prepare your space
Find a safe and comfortable space where you can fully relax and focus on your breath. You can sit up with your back straight or lie down on a soft surface. If you’re new to breathwork, it’s better to lie down to prevent any risk of fainting or discomfort.
Close your eyes, take a deep breath in through your nose, and let it out through your mouth with a sigh. Repeat this a few times to release any initial tension. Settle into the present moment, allowing yourself to fully embrace the experience ahead.
Step 2: Start the euphoric breathwork
Now that you’re comfortable, it’s time to begin the breathwork:
- Begin by taking 11 deep breaths. Inhale deeply through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
- On the 12th breath, inhale deeply through the mouth and hold the breath.
- As you do so, squeeze your fists, engage your abdominal muscles, and tighten your arms, legs, and feet. Push your tongue to the roof of your mouth and roll your eyes up toward your third eye. Hold for eight seconds.
- Release the tension in your body, hold your breath for a few more seconds, then exhale slowly through pursed lips. This is one full round of euphoric breathwork.
Step 3: Repeat the breathwork cycle
Continue for several more rounds, following the same pattern. As you progress through each round, you may begin to notice a profound shift in your consciousness. Your body will relax further, and you might experience sensations of tingling, warmth, or lightness as you delve deeper.
Step 4: Embrace the euphoria
As you move through the rounds of breathwork, allow yourself to fully embrace the sensations that arise. The combination of deep breathing, breath retention, and muscle engagement is designed to trigger the release of DMT in your body, leading to a natural state of euphoria.
During this process, you might feel an increased sense of well-being, connection to the universe, or even a heightened awareness of your inner self. These experiences are all part of accessing non-ordinary states of consciousness.
Step 5: Gently return to the present moment
Take a few deep breaths, allowing your body to relax completely. Slowly open your eyes, taking a moment to reacclimate to your surroundings.
You may notice a lingering sense of peace, joy, or heightened awareness. This is the afterglow of the euphoric state you’ve just experienced.

Take a moment to reflect
After completing your session, take a few moments to reflect on your experience. Here are some questions to help deepen any insights that arose from the practice:
- What sensations did you notice during the breathwork?
- How did your body feel after completing the breathwork?
- What thoughts or emotions arose during the practice?
